Customer Success Consultant

Who You Are:

Your Opportunity:
  • Respond to sales and support inquiries; investigate and resolve issues.
  • Track user registration and onboarding activity; reach out strategically to provide demos and offer guidance.
  • Prepare regular platform utilization reports; perform deeper analyses of important trends.
  • Regularly survey the user base and conduct interviews with key accounts; document feature requests and communicate customer sentiment to the rest of the team.
  • Perform ongoing data cleansing to continually improve platform quality.
  • Create user guides, tutorials, knowledge base articles, and other content aimed at enabling users to maximize the value they obtain from the platform.

Data Scientist

Your Opportunity:
  • Work in close collaboration with product management and the rest of the business to develop data-fuelled capabilities that enhance the benefits of the Covalent Data platform.
  • Provide insight into leading analytic practices, design and lead iterative learning and development cycles, and produce new and creative analytic solutions.
  • Apply data science techniques to identify new connections among the full array of platform data.
  • Provide expertise on mathematical concepts for the engineering team.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations research, applied statistics, data mining, machine learning or related degree or comparable experience. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.
  • Passionate about asking and answering questions in large datasets, and you are able to communicate that passion to product managers and engineers.

You have experience developing complex SaaS and B2B technology solutions as a front-end engineer. You are experienced in Lean/Agile methodologies, with a passion for experimentation and a commitment to quality.

You are excited by the prospect of working in a fast-paced startup environment where you are a member of a small but elite team of software engineers operating without a large support infrastructure. You continually research new technologies and methodologies that propel the product forward. You are highly collaborative by nature, always willing to teach and learn from others.

Your Opportunity:
  • Work in close collaboration with product management and the rest of the business to develop features and capabilities that enhance the benefits of the Covalent Data platform.
  • Continually refine the user experience for a wide array of personas that interact with the platform. Through experimentation and iteration, drive greater user engagement throughout the platform.
  • Develop features that help users to sift through large amounts of content to discover relevant and useful information.
  • Develop features that provide users with greater insights into platform content, including interactive visualization tools.
  • Ensure that uptime and performance standards for the platform are achieved. Respond quickly to defects, taking personal responsibility for quality.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Experience with JavaScript and Ruby on Rails is required. React and Backbone is a huge plus.
  • UX and UI design experience is a plus, as is experience deploying end-user data visualization tools.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related degree or comparable experience.

  • Abundant curiosity with the ability to quickly grasp pertinent details across such disparate subject areas as patent classification systems, research grants, technical publications, and financial filings.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities in introducing new technologies and problem solving techniques to address challenging engineering problems.

  • Experience with high-performance distributed systems and Java is required. Experience with AWS, Solr, MapReduce, machine learning, and natural language processing is a huge plus.
  • In depth knowledge of advanced data science techniques is a major plus.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, Backbone, and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
